Even though the showdown at the Claw has concluded, the family is still busy with multiple UFC 250 events.
Billionaire hedge fund manager Paul Tudor Jones II, who has ties to the Obamas, is said to be in a bit of a family turmoil following an incident involving a family member. A source informed Page Six that they are attempting to distance themselves from their daughter, who has come under fire for derogatory remarks aimed at Michelle Obama.
Caroline Jones, Paul’s daughter and a member of the Zac Brown Band, performed the national anthem on the South Lawn of the White House. The group, including the U.S. Marine Corps Band, entertained while the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and U.S. Navy Blue Angels flew overhead.
Later on, UFC heavyweight Josh Hokit made a controversial comment: “Michelle Obama is a man. America, am I right?”
According to another source, the family is working to move beyond the issue, especially the slurs directed at Michelle Obama. Reports suggest they have even advised Caroline to refrain from sharing her thoughts online.
Paul Tudor, who is worth an estimated $8.1 billion, was an early backer of Barack Obama and organized significant fundraisers for him, notably attracting high-profile guests like Tyra Banks and George Soros to a $750,000 event at his Connecticut home in 2007.
While Paul has supported various political candidates, he shifted his support to Romney during the 2012 campaign, although his wife, Sonia, organized a fundraiser for Obama that year at Sarah Jessica Parker’s residence.
Insiders say their friendship with the Obamas extends beyond politics; the families have shared vacations together.
Zac Brown emphasized his appearance at the event stemmed from patriotism rather than political motives. “I’m here for the military, dude,” he stated on The Pat McAfee Show. Brown expressed a desire to celebrate America and the sacrifices made by those striving for the American dream.
Requests for comment from representatives for Paul and Caroline went unanswered.
