A friend of Tyrese Haliburton's fiancée Makenzi Kern praised her in a heartfelt post before her unexpected death during a bachelorette trip.

The best friend of Tyrese Haliburton’s fiancée, Makenzie Khan, shared an emotional post about Jade Jones just before her untimely death during a bachelorette trip in St. Barts.

Khan’s Instagram post, celebrating the future wife of the two-time NBA All-Star, came shortly before she passed away unexpectedly on June 8 from unspecified health issues while vacationing in the Caribbean.

In her post, Khan expressed joy in celebrating Jade Jones, writing, “We know exactly how to celebrate Jade Jones!” She posed in a white crop top and tan shorts at a bar in Nashville, Tennessee.

Two other photos she shared captured her smiling alongside Jones and another friend. This post, which was shared on February 2, 2024, marked the last time she updated her Instagram before her sudden death.

Khan, who hailed from Iowa, died two days after celebrating her 26th birthday during Jones’ festive bachelorette gathering.

Her family believes that neither drugs nor alcohol contributed to her passing, noting that she appeared happy and carefree in pictures taken during the initial days of the celebration.

In a fun group shot shared by Jones, Khan is seen in a blue two-piece outfit, arms wide open and smiling, surrounded by friends who wore matching attire, with the bride standing in white at the center.

The cheerful moments were captured by the pool, on a boat, and by the sea, where they toasted to “Hail Ever After,” a nod to Haliburton’s name, before the trip took a tragic turn.

The exact details surrounding Khan’s passing remain unclear.

Her family shared that she died “surrounded by close friends on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to St. Barthélemy,” according to an online obituary.

They described her experiences on the trip, saying she enjoyed activities like boating with her dad, water skiing, and her first seabob in St. Barts, indicating she truly lived life to the fullest.

They even mentioned how much enjoyment she found; her friends had to encourage her to come back from her adventures.

Khan, who graduated from Iowa State University in 2022 with a degree in human development and family studies, worked as the membership director at the YMCA of Omaha.

She leaves behind her parents, in-laws, sister, brother-in-law, grandparents, and boyfriend.

Jones and Haliburton, who have been together for over seven years, are set to marry on August 1.

The couple’s wedding plans are outlined in an online marriage registry.
