Jelly Roll’s Divorce: Insights from Bunny XO’s Ex-Husband
Though Jelly Roll is splitting from Bunny XO, her ex-husband seems to believe he could win her back.
“We talk every day,” Frankie Lombardo shared with Page Six, explaining he “wouldn’t say no” to rekindling their relationship if she was open to it. “She was the only woman who ever broke my heart. I feel there’s a lot of unfinished business between us, but maybe that’s just me. I love her deeply. I’d never want to hurt her—those feelings won’t fade.”
Lombardo, who is 43 and based in California, posted several TikTok videos shortly after the news broke. He defended Bunny, whose real name is Alyssa Deford, and emphasized their strong connection despite the years that have passed since their marriage. “I’ll always love that girl. No matter how much I try to distance myself, I can’t,” he said in one clip.
He also teased that he has some insider knowledge about their situation, joking, “I know too much (lol).” He added, “We have an interesting friendship. Sometimes she still talks to me and scolds me like we’re still married.”
Lombardo declared, “Bunny is my best friend.” Jelly Roll echoed similar sentiments at a concert in Saratoga Springs, New York, stating, “My wife and I are best friends, and we always will be.” He referred to her as “probably the only woman I’ve ever loved like this,” also claiming, “I’ve never cheated on anyone.”
Although Lombardo has never met Jelly Roll face-to-face, he remarked that he had “heard he’s a good guy.”
Bunny XO, now 46, was previously married to Lombardo from 2009 to 2015 before marrying Jelly Roll in 2016.
After announcing their divorce, Jelly Roll confirmed they remain close friends.
The Grammy Award-winning artist has a criminal history, having turned his life around from serving time for robbery and drug offenses. Bunny, also with a troubled past, has shared details about her journey on social media.
While Lombardo has made multiple references to their friendship, there are those who are skeptical. A source suggested he might be trying to exploit their connection following the public split. “He’s the kind of person who takes advantage of women until they can’t handle it anymore,” the insider remarked.
However, Lombardo dismissed such claims as “all nonsense.” He’s attempted to emphasize his closeness with Bunny online, referring to her as “boss” in several posts. As Jelly Roll and Bunny’s marriage faces difficulties, Lombardo’s mentions of her have increased.
The couple filed for divorce on May 18, officially separating on May 9, as per court documents. Sources indicate the split follows years of tension, stemming from Jelly Roll’s shift toward a faith-based lifestyle while Bunny maintains her bold public persona.
On the day of the breakup, Jelly Roll appeared to confirm it by updating his Instagram profile to read “Music Man,” with a moving truck seen outside their Nashville home—though whose belongings were being moved remains unclear.
Bunny later explained on her podcast that an argument on Mother’s Day led her to suggest divorce. “I was fed up from our fight, and I just told him, ‘Then file for divorce,'” she shared.
Throughout their relationship, they have navigated various challenges, including a prior separation after Jelly Roll admitted to an affair. They eventually reconciled, discussing these hurdles openly while co-parenting their two children from Jelly Roll’s previous relationship.
This week, Bunny mentioned on her podcast that despite their issues, they still plan to have a baby together. “The last two years have been tough. IVF is one of the loneliest, darkest journeys, and it completely devastated me,” she noted, showing gratitude for others who face similar struggles.
