Carrie Underwood expresses her pride in being American.
The 43-year-old country star recently posted a video on Instagram, showing her driving by a large fence adorned with American flags. It’s quite a sight.
“I can’t believe I get to live here. Thank you, Lord. #GodBlessAmerica #Grateful #TN,” she wrote in her caption.
This display of patriotism resonated with her fans. One comment mentioned how a similar scene at Eric Trump’s Trump Winery in Virginia “really brought tears to my eyes. So patriotic.”
Another fan echoed that sentiment with, “I feel the same way! Thank you, Lord for bringing us here,” while a third noted, “Beautiful and patriotic! So proud.”
One particularly emotional response read: “Oh my god. I hope someone who has contributed as much as me sees this post. If that flag represents gratitude for freedom, then it will make what I’ve been through feel a little less painful. Thank you, Carrie. Thank you, too, to Mike and the boys.”
In January 2025, Underwood showcased her patriotism again by performing “America the Beautiful” in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda during President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
During that performance, she managed to sidestep any awkwardness when the music momentarily stopped. She instructed the crowd, “You know the words, help me here,” and sang a cappella.
“I love this country and was honored to be asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” she stated. “I am humbled to answer this call at a time when we all need to come together in a spirit of unity and look to the future.”
The announcement had mixed reviews. Some, like Joy Behar from “The View,” criticized her involvement, while others supported it.
In an interview with FOX News Digital, Lee Greenwood defended Underwood, saying, “She’s going to do a great job on Capitol Hill with ‘America the Beautiful.’”
He added, “I’m going to sing it before the president takes the oath. Then she’ll sing, and that moment alone will be magical. For anyone wanting to criticize, please keep it to yourself. Don’t attack my friends who are here for the same reason I am. It’s the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States.”
Underwood initially gained fame in 2005 as the winner of Season 4 of “American Idol.”
Since then, the “Jesus Take the Wheel” singer has won eight Grammy Awards and sold over 22.5 million albums in the U.S.
She later announced her return to “American Idol” in a February 2025 Instagram post, informing fans that she would be replacing Katy Perry as a judge on the show.
