Elon Musk warns of legal action against Ro Khanna regarding DOGE responsibility efforts

Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, indicated on Monday that he might consider legal action against Democratic Representative Ro Khanna from California. This came in response to Khanna’s remarks on Saturday during a podcast where he urged the Democratic Party to hold Musk accountable if they regain congressional control.

Khanna expressed his belief that “accountability” is necessary once the party is in power. He highlighted the contradiction between celebrating Musk’s billionaire status and the potential consequences of his policies, mentioning that dismantling USAID could endanger millions of children worldwide. “He needs to face the music,” Khanna insisted, advocating for investigations and subpoenas regarding Musk’s actions related to the Department of Government Efficiency.

Musk reacted to these accusations via a post on X, suggesting it was time to “prosecute this liar.” He further defended his position, claiming that the intent behind the actions of the Department of Government Efficiency was merely to ensure that aid funds were being used lawfully. Musk pointed out that some USAID employees had been indicted for misappropriating money.

In another statement, Musk described the standards set by the Department of Government Efficiency as straightforward, meant to prevent corruption in aid distribution. He criticized Khanna, calling him a “robber” and alleging stock trading issues.

A representative for Khanna responded by sharing a video where the Congressman addressed Musk’s threats, emphasizing that being the wealthiest individual in the world doesn’t exempt Musk from scrutiny. Khanna challenged Musk to engage in a debate rather than resorting to legal threats, reiterating his history of standing up against powerful interests.
