Emerging country artist Ella Langley performed in Chicago, where she not only showcased a growing repertoire of hits but also conveyed a heartfelt message centered on her Christian faith.
Langley graced the stage on Saturday, opening for the well-known Morgan Wallen at Soldier Field. Alongside her latest songs, she spoke about her spiritual journey, sharing insights on her faith with the audience, as noted by Music website Whiskey Riff.
“I’ve watched this song gain traction in Nashville, and I’ve seen others perform it too. But I wondered, what would you think if I included it in an album? It really resonates with where I am in life. Honestly, my relationship with Christ has evolved quite a bit over the past year,” she shared with the crowd.
“There was a time I never even mentioned God during my shows, but now, I can’t seem to stop talking about it,” she reflected on her renewed commitment to her faith.
“I’ve made choices that left me feeling unworthy of this song, yet it’s God who reminds me of my worth. I always have value; regardless of where I find myself, God will meet me there,” she affirmed.
“That’s why I felt it was essential to include this song on my album; I want you to feel that you’re not alone. There’s someone listening, and you’re always in conversation with God, whether you realize it or not,” Langley elaborated.
In her song, she reflects on her early faith, noting that, as she grew older, a sense of skepticism began to seep in. She emphasized how easy it is to let faith slip away, as “the world breaks you down, breaks your heart, shakes your faith.”
The lyrics also touch on how many approach prayer selfishly and often see it as a “one-way conversation” with God. It goes on to express a desire for reassurance: “I’m waiting for a whisper, to confirm that you and I are still talking.”
