Ed Kelsey recently shared his enthusiasm in an interview, expressing how “very excited” he is about his son Travis Kelsey’s upcoming marriage to Taylor Swift.
“She’s such a sweet girl, like the girl next door,” Ed, 74, mentioned during a Wednesday chat with Fox 29 in Philadelphia.
The Grammy-winning singer, 36, also noted some physical similarities between Swift and Kelsey’s sister-in-law, Kylie, who has been married to Ed’s other son, Jason, for eight years. Jason, 38, tied the knot with Kylie, 34, in April 2018 in Philadelphia.
Travis and Swift are set to marry in New York City on the weekend of July 3rd after being together for almost three years.
Word is, the wedding venue will be Madison Square Garden, and permits from Winnick Productions indicate necessary road closures around the iconic location to accommodate the event.
City officials mentioned that trucks will likely enter and exit via 33rd Street to handle event logistics. Additionally, some of Travis’s teammates have reportedly booked rooms at the Marriott Marquis in Midtown around the wedding date.
The couple got engaged in August 2025, with Travis proposing after Taylor appeared on their podcast, “New Heights.” Following her engagement, Swift posted a lighthearted message on social media, stating, “Your English teacher and gym teacher are getting married 🧨.”
Families connected to the couple have mostly stayed quiet about the high-profile wedding plans. In a recent podcast episode, Kylie expressed her frustration with people constantly asking about the wedding, saying, “Nobody’s telling you anything.” When asked about it by Savannah Guthrie in January on the Today Show, she only shared, “I’m excited to celebrate.”
