USA’s Final Group Stage Match at 2026 FIFA World Cup Celebrates Patriotism

The final group stage match for the USA during the 2026 FIFA World Cup might not have had much excitement on the field, but the atmosphere at home was buzzing with patriotism. Usha Vance, the second lady of the United States, was among a host of celebrities who gathered at the Los Angeles Stadium on Thursday night.

As the national anthem filled the stadium, both players and fans joined in unison, and FOX Sports captured Vance’s beaming smile in her suite right after “The Star-Spangled Banner” concluded.

Her attendance came just two days after an announcement from FIFA President Gianni Infantino, stating that President Donald Trump would present the World Cup trophy to the winning team at the final scheduled for July 19 in New Jersey.

The presence of Vance was just the start of a star-studded gathering at Inglewood. Paris Hilton, for instance, was spotted presenting the game ball before kickoff, with cameras also catching numerous notable figures throughout the crowd. Among them were actors Edward Norton and Brad Pitt, who, as many fans noted, might have sparked discussions about a “Fight Club” sequel.

Other celebrities included Ashton Kutcher, who was seen chatting with Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua, highlighting the crossover appeal of sports and Hollywood. Meanwhile, Colin Farrell, sporting a replica Team USA jersey, was in the stands cheering with his son. Leonardo DiCaprio and Scottie Pippen were also spotted enjoying the game.

Throughout the tournament, there has been overwhelming support for the U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) from celebrities and fans alike. A week earlier, the team celebrated a thrilling 4-2 victory over Paraguay, creating an electric atmosphere as they began the tournament on home turf for the first time since 1999.

Following that, the USMNT secured a 2-0 win against Australia, clinching a place in the finals. The crowd erupted in a sing-along to John Denver’s classic “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” showcasing the team’s connection with their fans.

Having already qualified for the knockout stages, the USMNT made nine changes to their starting lineup before facing Turkiye on Thursday night. Their next challenge will be against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Round of 32 on July 1.

Amid it all, regardless of who’s playing, the biggest stars in the country have stayed engaged and supportive of a team that’s inspiring a surge of national pride at the start of this tournament.
