Xia Brookside claims TNA Knockouts World Championship at Slammiversary

The friendship between Shea Brookside and Rai Ying Lee has taken a dramatic turn, evolving into a fierce rivalry recently, especially as they competed for the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) Knockouts World Championship.

Brookside’s jealousy peaked when Lee secured the championship title, leading to their title match at Slammiversary this past Sunday night.

Lee started strong, showcasing his agility and speed to gain the upper hand early on. Brookside struggled with a flurry of kicks and a dropkick, but Lee also delivered a punishing German suplex followed by a thrust kick, and a diving shoulder block outside the ring.

However, Brookside quickly regained her footing. She pushed Lee into the ring post, injuring his left knee, and saw an opportunity to exploit his vulnerability.

Throughout the match, Lee, clearly not backing down, insisted on exacting more punishment. Despite being trapped in a submission hold by Brookside, he retaliated with a move of his own, keeping the intensity alive. In a dramatic turn, Lee powerbombed Brookside off the turnbuckle, which caused Brookside to expose the ropes by tearing the turnbuckle. In an exciting climax, she countered and knocked Lee off the top rope, landing in the open area before executing her finisher, Darkside, securing a pinfall victory.

This marks Brookside’s first victory in TNA, while Lee’s second championship reign comes to an end after just 74 days.
