North Carolina mail carrier dies while on duty, leaving children without parents

A mother of two, who had been a postal worker for many years, tragically lost her life on Tuesday in North Carolina while on her mail route. This incident has left her children orphaned, particularly heartbreaking since their father had also tragically passed away in a car crash just a few months prior.

Brandi Reynolds, a former carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, was fatally shot in Hays, North Carolina, around 4:16 p.m. on a Friday. Authorities have arrested William Craig Durham, who is suspected of killing her, and he faces charges of murder and kidnapping.

When police responded to the scene, they found Reynolds already deceased.

Reynolds had been working as a rural mail carrier when she was, allegedly, attacked by Durham. Reports indicate that he had restrained her and moved her against her will.

This incident comes just months after Reynolds’s husband, Brent, died in a car accident in December. Now their two children are left without both parents. In a February post on Facebook, Reynolds expressed how much her kids meant to her, saying they were her reason to get up every morning.

She often shared moments from her life with her family on social media. One touching post reflected her deep love for her child, mentioning how she wished she could slow down time to cherish those moments forever.

As of now, authorities have not revealed any details regarding the connection between Reynolds and Durham.
