Former journalist Alex Berenson reveals on 'Pod Force One' that additional COVID records from Biden are on the way.

Berenson Discusses Pfizer and Government Interactions

In a recent episode of “Pod Force One,” former New York Times journalist Alex Berenson shared insights about a lawsuit involving Pfizer and its communications with officials from the Biden administration, particularly regarding efforts to limit online speech.

“Pfizer is going to have to provide records about their meetings with the Biden administration,” Berenson told Miranda Devine, highlighting the implications of the ongoing case against Pfizer executives for allegedly infringing on First Amendment rights. “This, to me, is quite significant.”

Berenson, known for his critical views on the U.S. response to the COVID-19 pandemic, previously resolved a lawsuit against Twitter (now X) in 2022 after being banned from the platform in August 2021 during the crisis.

He is also involved in a lawsuit from 2023, where Biden administration officials, including Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla and Scott Gottlieb from the drug company, accused him of coercion that impacted his free speech.

Both the Twitter and government lawsuits have reached settlements, yet Berenson remains optimistic that further evidence will emerge. This follows a Congressional investigation that produced documents indicating that major tech companies censored posts flagged by the Biden administration.

A former investigative reporter noted, “These Biden administration officials were applying pressure… They indicated that social media was allowing harmful vaccine misinformation.” He continued, “Companies had retorted, ‘People have a First Amendment right, and they shouldn’t be pressuring us.'”

Berenson emphasized that the Biden administration was adamant, asserting that such misinformation was dangerous and that companies might face consequences regarding their Section 230 protections.

Insights on Social Media Regulation

Berenson pointed out specific individuals, like Andrew Slavitt and Rob Flaherty, who allegedly focused on clamping down on content across platforms like Twitter and Facebook. He mentioned that Pfizer had claimed Slavitt wasn’t in a White House role at times but insisted on the bullying behavior.

His legal fight, distinct from the significant Missouri v. Biden case—an issue surrounding government-related suppression of free speech—has drawn parallels to an “Orwellian ‘Ministry of Truth’,” referencing communications from Flaherty.

“Even if we settle with the federal government, winning this case against Pfizer would be a major success for me,” he expressed on the podcast. “It’s more than just a personal triumph; it has implications for the First Amendment.”

He raised concerns about the treatment of unvaccinated individuals in 2021, questioning the discussions between Pfizer and the government during that period. “What was happening behind the scenes? There are significant economic interests at play, especially regarding the vaccine’s effectiveness and the impending mandates.”
