Aaron Judge addresses Yankees’ concerns before seventh straight loss

Aaron Judge has a stress fracture and will be out for an unknown period for the Yankees.

Yankees’ Captain Aaron Judge Remarks on Team’s Struggles

Even though New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge is currently sidelined, he remains focused on addressing the team’s recent poor performance. After a tough six-game losing streak, he shared his thoughts before the series finale against the Detroit Tigers.

“It’s not great,” Judge remarked about the team’s struggles. “We just weren’t concentrating a bit. We have to keep pushing. Our main goal is to win the World Series. I think every player should remember that whenever they come here.” It’s clear he’s passionate about the game, and maybe just a little frustrated.

He didn’t elaborate on what he meant by a lack of concentration, but he added, “I think you all can see that.” Judge, currently recovering from a rib injury, believes that the quest for the Yankees’ 28th World Championship should be enough motivation for everyone on the team.

“That should motivate you every time you step on the field,” he continued. “No matter what happened before, I have a job to do. There’s a sign you see before heading out that says, ‘Do your job.’ Everyone’s here to do their part.”

Unfortunately, despite Judge’s pregame pep talk, the Yankees fell to the Tigers 6-2 in the 11th inning, with the team giving up four runs in the top of the inning. With this loss, the Yankees have now lost seven straight games and eight of their last ten, trailing three games behind the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East.

It’s worth noting that the Yankees are still holding onto a playoff position as they lead the American League wild-card standings, despite their recent slump. However, competition is heating up as other teams start to find their stride.

As for Judge’s return to the field, there’s still no timeline. He expressed uncertainty about his recovery: “You know how it goes here. Sometimes I feel better; sometimes I feel worse, but we have to wait for the images.” The Yankees indicated additional imaging would be done in about four to six weeks.

While the Yankees face a challenging situation, there’s still a significant portion of the season left. Perhaps the upcoming All-Star break starting July 13 could serve as a much-needed reset for the team to get back to winning ways.
