Trump: Freedom Fuel Network Reducing Gas Prices in PA for America's 250th

Trump Announces Gas Price Reductions for Celebration

President Donald Trump shared that the Freedom Fuel Network will reduce gas prices at various stations in Philadelphia in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump mentioned, “As promised, oil prices are falling rapidly, and gas prices at the pump are also falling, but not as quickly as expected.”

He elaborated, expressing excitement for the upcoming anniversary:

As we near America’s 250th anniversary, we’re thrilled to announce that some of the smartest retailers in the Northeast have come together to wish Philadelphians a “Happy Birthday!” On July 3, Freedom Fuel Network will lower gas prices at 25 locations in the Philadelphia area. This retailer is setting an example that others should follow, motivated by a love for America. It’s a proud moment to celebrate in Pennsylvania, the birthplace of the Declaration of Independence, where I experienced a decisive victory in the presidential election. America is stronger than ever. Gas prices will soon return to the record lows that Americans appreciated before the successful “excursion” in Iran. Happy birthday, America! – Donald J. Trump

This announcement follows Trump’s earlier appeal to gasoline retailers to lower prices for consumers, as noted by Breitbart News.

He stated, “Gasoline retailers must lower prices immediately. Prices are too high given that oil is currently dropping to $68 a barrel. Retailers need to respond to this plea and do what’s right for the great American people!”

Trump added, “If they do not comply, they’re in big trouble. Ideally, we should see prices around $2.50 per gallon. California needs to reconsider its high gasoline taxes, which might soon exceed the price of the fuel itself. The people of California, unfairly burdened by these taxes, will not support such measures from their government.”

Earlier this May, it was reported that the national average for regular unleaded gasoline hit $4.54 per gallon, coinciding with a drop in oil prices amid reports of progress in resolving the Iran conflict.

A few weeks later, Trump noted a 60-cent decrease in gas prices attributed to the end of that war and increased shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to analyst John Carney, the U.S. economy remained resilient throughout the oil crisis, stating, “The key test of economic policy is the economy’s ability to handle negative shocks. This spring, the U.S. economy passed the test with flying colors.”
