Patriotic Run in New York City Celebrates Independence

Across the United States, people marked the 250th anniversary in various ways—fireworks, barbecues, and gatherings with loved ones. Among these celebrations, a unique event involving the U.S. Marines stood out.

On the Sunday following Independence Day, dozens of Marines came together with hundreds of eager runners for a distinctly patriotic run in New York City’s Central Park.

“It really doesn’t matter who stands in our way. We tell them we love them and just keep going,” one participant exclaimed.

Video footage showed a procession of uniformed Marines moving through the park, closely followed by many proud Americans waving flags of all sizes.

The run was organized by Unify America, with a mission to carry the American flag across all 50 states as a way to unite the nation, “one step at a time, one smile at a time.”

Teagan McCoy, a co-founder of the organization, addressed the crowd while holding a large flag. “We’re here to spread patriotic positivity!” he stated, noting his excitement often leaves him a bit hoarse after these events.

He emphasized that it doesn’t matter where in the country someone resides, as patriots are found everywhere. “There are Americans who care deeply, and we’re here to represent that.” His brother and fellow co-founder, Coston McCoy, reinforced this vision, highlighting the need to confront divisions in the country head-on.

“Every day, we have to wake up and ask ourselves: Are we going to come together and make the effort to unite America with a smile? Or will we just overlook the divisions that exist?” he pondered.

The spirit of the event was clear. “We just keep moving forward no matter what stands in our way,” he added.

Unify USA, launched late last year, has been making waves with its ambitious 50-state tour. Its goals range from restoring local patriotism to supporting veterans and helping those in need.
