President Joe Biden asked Ryan Seacrest to share his favorite memories of 2023 on New Year's Eve.
President Jill Biden and first lady appeared on ABC's “Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve” on Sunday and praised the Biden administration's economic performance.
“My father once had this look on his face. He said, 'Joey, work is about more than a paycheck.' It's about your dignity. It's about respect. β We brought a lot of jobs back to the United States. People are now in a position to earn a living. It has created over 14 million jobs. I'm really glad that the American people stood up for this. They've had a tough time with the pandemic, and now we're coming back and they're coming back,” Biden said.

Biden also told Seacrest about the food he ate during the holidays, emphasizing his love of Italian food and ice cream.
“I eat everything that's in front of me, but I also ate pasta, which I love, with lots of chicken Parmesan. I basically eat Italian food,” the president said.
“And ice cream,” the first lady added.
“And chocolate chip ice cream,” Biden clarified.

The pre-recorded interview was filmed Saturday from the Bidens' vacation spot on St. Croix, Virgin Islands. according to to the Hollywood Reporter. “I hope everyone has a healthy, happy and safe New Year,” Biden said. βBut more than that, I hope they understand that we are in a better position than any other country in the world to lead the world. And we will be back, so no more. Itβs time.β
