ESPN airs woman’s NSFW flashing on Bourbon Street during Sugar Bowl

Almost anything can happen while walking down Bourbon Street in New Orleans, and ESPN learned the following the hard way Monday night.

When an ESPN cameraman captured a woman flashing her right breast toward an overhead balcony, the network gave viewers more than just a pretty shot of the famous NOLA street during a commercial break .

“We regret that this happened and apologize that the video was shown on broadcast television,” an ESPN spokesperson told The Associated Press.

The network didn't see the scene before broadcasting it to a national television audience, but viewers soon found out and took to social media to express their disbelief.

Reactions ranged from uncontrollable laughter to people using the moment to film some of the network's regular personalities.

“ESPN is casually broadcasting boobs at the beginning of the year,” one user of X wrote, along with a crying-laughing emoji.

“Commercial break that gets the boob flash on ESPN, well done…. lol,” another wrote.

“Oh, and ESPN just broadcast a woman on Bourbon Street showing her boobs for beads to millions of people,” a third person wrote.

“On my timeline, people talk about seeing boobs on ESPN the same way they talk about having boobs on TV. It's just not been a business model for ESPN since they first hired Skip Bayless.” ” one person joked about the current FS1 host.

It is unclear whether the footage was live or a recording of B-roll footage shown during the game, and the extent to which the footage was vetted before being aired.

The Sugar Bowl matchup, in which Washington held off Texas 37-31, was held Monday night at the Superdome in New Orleans.
