Renowned magician David Copperfield had dinner with Jeffrey Epstein's alleged victims at the late pedophile's home, and the girls were surrounded by other girls, according to court documents released Wednesday. He said he asked her if she knew she was being paid to recruit people.
Epstein accuser Johanna Sjoberg testified in a May 2016 deposition that she met the 67-year-old Copperfield when asked directly by her lawyer, Sigrid McCauley. Her redacted names were published in her testimony.
“Someone called me from home and said he was there and if I wanted to come over for dinner, I could meet him,” Sjoberg said.
“So, when I got home, he hadn't come yet, but I think he was waiting with Sarah Kellen. There was another girl there that I had never met or seen before. . She looked young to me.”
Sjoberg asked the girl what school she went to to see if it was one of the area colleges, but she said she didn't know her name and thought it might have been a high school.
“So I thought she could be under college age, but to stay sane I had to assume she was the daughter of one of his friends,” she said. Told.
