Here’s who senators have already endorsed ahead of the Iowa Caucuses

In just one week, the 2024 Iowa caucuses will begin, with the first votes cast for the next presidential candidate.

The Iowa caucuses, the first state to vote for presidential candidates, set the stage for the entire primary season. A win or strong performance in Iowa can create important momentum for a candidate and influence voters' perceptions of a candidate's viability.

More Republicans in both chambers are rallying behind former President Donald Trump. Several major Republican candidates include Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and Trump. This is support even though there is only one left.

As of Friday, 100 House Republicans, seven governors and 19 Republican senators had endorsed Trump, including Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas. J.D. Vance of Ohio State. Rick Scott of Florida. Josh Hawley and Eric Schmidt of Missouri; Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. Ted Budd of North Carolina. Steve Daines of Montana. Roger Marshall of Kansas. Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma State. Mike Brown of Indiana. Katie Britt of Alabama; Marcia Blackburn and Bill Hagerty of Tennessee; John Hoeven of North Dakota; more.

Additionally, the entire Minnesota Republican delegation announced their support for Trump last week. Trump, the first major Republican leader to announce his candidacy in 2024, has also secured support from every Republican senator. in alabama Congressional Delegation.

Trump remains the strong front-runner in the Iowa Republican presidential caucuses, with the latest polls showing him with an approval rating of more than 50%. A FOX Business poll shows Trump's approval rating at 52%, well ahead of his closest rivals, DeSantis, at 18%, and Haley, at 16%.

The Trump campaign's ground operations in Iowa are several steps ahead of its 2016 efforts, which narrowly defeated Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in that year's caucuses.

Meanwhile, some Senate Democrats, including Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, had already announced their support for President Biden last year. John Hickenlooper of Colorado. and Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut.

Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont also endorsed Biden last April. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-Virginia), who is not running for re-election, has not endorsed Biden.

Meanwhile, 72 public figures in Iowa, including former politicians like David Oman, who previously held the position of chief of staff to the governor, Robert Ray and Terry Branstad, have endorsed Haley.

Others who supported Haley include Christine Hensley, the longest-serving member of the Des Moines City Council. Her lawyer and Branstad's former chief of staff, Doug Gross, is backing her, as is New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, a Republican.

Last week, Ramaswamy received the support of former Iowa Republican Rep. Steve King, whose posts on X caused controversy.

Republican Party Chairman Steve Godu of Salem, New Hampshire, also endorsed Ramaswamy last year, along with former New Hampshire Republican Senate candidate Kevin Smith.
