Unruly passenger claiming to be devil kicked off JetBlue flight

A JetBlue flight headed from Florida to Massachusetts was forced to reroute and make an early landing after an unruly passenger punched a female passenger and claimed he was the devil.

JetBlue Flight 170 was headed from Fort Lauderdale to Boston on Thursday around 9:30 p.m. However, the plane was forced to reroute and land in Orlando after passengers allegedly began behaving strangely and violently.

Passengers claimed that a man on the plane began threatening people, saying he was the devil. At one point, the male passenger reportedly punched a female passenger.

“I was at the front of the plane so I didn't hear any noise in the back, but I had one of the flight attendants tell the first few rows that there was a pit stop in Orlando, but they didn't want to make an announcement. 'That's what pissed the man off,' passenger Max Seelig told news outlets from Boston.

WCVB-TV “One passenger who was sitting near the man said that the flight attendant forced the woman who was with him into the onboard toilet, and that the man was banging on the door to get her out.'' .

“He threw her in the bathroom, punched the door and tried to take her out of the bathroom. It was pretty scary,” the passenger said.

A video taken by passenger Leo Lewis shows unruly passengers being escorted from the JetBlue plane by law enforcement after it landed at Orlando International Airport.

After the alarming commotion, the remaining passengers had to deplane in Orlando. Passengers then had to wait for the plane to be refueled and for a new crew to arrive before reboarding the plane. The plane did not land in Boston until 4:31 a.m. Friday, the paper said. new york post.

JetBlue allegedly sent an email to passengers stating: “This disruption is considered an uncontrollable disruption, meaning it was caused by events outside of JetBlue's control (such as air traffic control or weather conditions). Unfortunately, we do not provide compensation or reimbursement to customers for out-of-pocket costs. ”

“The individual was intoxicated and was transported to a local hospital. [Orlando Fire Department] for treatment,” a department spokesperson told the New York Post.

The names of the unruly passengers were not released by authorities and no arrests were reportedly made.
