Bill Belichick set to meet Patriots media as Robert Kraft meeting looms

It's business as usual for Bill Belichick and the Patriots, at least for now.

Right down to the usual post-game Zoom calls with the media.

Despite intense speculation that the longtime Patriots head coach would part ways with the organization, Belichick is scheduled to play a regular virtual game on Monday.

Belichick declined to answer questions about his future with the team, admitting he would talk to Patriots owner Robert Kraft after Sunday's season finale loss to the Jets.

“I'm going to talk to Robert at some point at the end of the season, like we do every year, about what's going to happen, and we'll talk like we always do,” Belichick said. According to the Boston Herald. “I'm sure it will. But that's all I can say right now because I don't have anything else to say.”

ESPN reported earlier this week that Belichick and Kraft were scheduled to meet on Monday to conclude the season, but when reporters covering the Patriots were informed that Belichick would speak to the media at 7 p.m. It seemed to attract people's attention.30.30am

Belichick has been in the spotlight for a while this season, when the Patriots' season took a downturn and reports began to surface in November that his longtime head coach was parting ways with the Patriots.

After the loss to the Jets, New England's first loss to an AFC East rival since 2015, Belichick dodged numerous questions about his future.

“Yeah, I just finished a game here against the Jets. I put everything I had into it. I was disappointed with the result,” Belichick responded at one point.

But now that the season is over, curiosity about Belichick's career has only intensified.

The Monday following the end of the regular season is notoriously known as “Black Monday,” as it is the day on which underperforming coaches are typically fired.

Many expect Belichick's name to be among this year's victims.

Belichick's time in New England may be coming to an end, but several teams are reportedly interested in him.

It was reported on Saturday that the Raiders and Commanders are interested in Belichick.

The six-time Super Bowl champion coach has no interest in retiring.

“No, I mean, I enjoy coaching,” Belichick said when asked if he was a little tired of coaching this season. “I still like coaching the team. I like preparing the team, planning the game, coaching on Sundays. But the results are not good and none of us are happy with the results. .”

The Patriots finished the season with a 4-13 record and were eliminated from postseason contention in Week 14, the earliest such loss for New England since 2000. According to CBS Boston.
