Edge: Lions – In the other game, the defensive differential was so large that it offset a similar offensive production. Despite the presence of DT Aaron Donald, the Rams' defensive stats raise a lot of concerns for Ben Johnson's Detroit offense.
Philadelphia Eagles vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Edge: Eagles – It must be shocking to a national audience that Philadelphia has the worst defense in the league. For a group of Eagles so talented, it's also surprising that the offense barely cracks the top 10. It's no surprise that Tampa Bay, the winner of the worst division in football, is the worst team in the entire playoffs.
The fact that DVOA accurately predicted all six games in last year's wild card round lends credence to its use this year. Even though we couldn't have predicted things like last year's injury to Brock Purdy, the Super Bowl matchup between the Chiefs and Eagles was two teams ranked in the top four in 2023.
