In an audience at the Vatican, Pope Francis praised the cooperation between Marxists and Christians to root out corruption and abuse of power.
The Pope spoke on Thursday to an audience representing the DIALOP Transversal Dialogue Project, an organization that describes itself as promoting “dialogue between people of good will from secular and religious backgrounds, especially socialists/Marxists and Christians.” Ta.
“I am pleased to welcome the representatives of DIALOP, which has been committed for many years to the promotion of the common good through dialogue between socialists/Marxists and Christians. What a wonderful program!” said Pope Francis.

In his speech, the Pope emphasized the importance of caring for society's most vulnerable people and protecting them from corruption and illegal activities.
“The measure of civilization is how the most vulnerable are treated,” Pope Francis said. “The great dictatorship that we associate with Nazism has destroyed the most vulnerable: the poor, the unemployed, the homeless, immigrants, the exploited, and all those turned into trash by a culture of waste. Let’s not forget how we cut down and killed them. This is one of the most horrifying things.”

The Pope proposed three attitudes that should be considered to advance the common good across ideological groups: “courage to break the mold, concern for the less fortunate, and support for the rule of law.”

“Today, across religious and ideological boundaries, Christians and Marxists and people of goodwill recognize that we are united in ending the world’s armed conflicts and guaranteeing the security of the most fundamental human rights. “Social balance and peace for humanity,” DIALOP said in a document about the conference.

DIALOP was founded in 2014 to serve as a forum for continued dialogue between left-wing political groups and Christianity in Europe. It is a secular organization.
