Just-released Jan. 6 videos show Capitol Police officer lied in Oath Keepers trial, Blaze Media investigative journalist says

Baker wrote an analysis in October questioning Lazarus' testimony that helped convict the Oath Keepers, and time-stamped CCTV footage seen by Blaze News shows he witnessed the current Capitol building. Baker and others were able to view the Jan. 6 video in limited capacity only on a House subcommittee terminal in Washington, D.C. Additionally, as of Baker's Oct. 4 analysis, Blaze News was reporting that Lazarus inside the Capitol building had been closed down after then-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was ousted the day before and permission to film the video was withheld. I was only allowed to release one screenshot from the 6th.

By early November, Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.) released multiple video screenshots from Jan. 6 showing Lazarus' movements inside the Capitol, telling Baker: statement He said he did so because “allegations that Capitol Police officers lied under oath are very serious and require a thorough investigation.”

On Nov. 17, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) said nearly all of the Jan. 6 Capitol security video, approximately 40,000 hours worth, will be made available to the public online. Mr Johnson's announcement followed Blaze News editor-in-chief Matthew Peterson's appeal for speakers to release all videos.

Baker on Friday Said Blaze News finally received permission to publish the Lazarus video clip. video BlazeTV aired a program Monday morning titled “The Truth about January 6th: Part III: David Lazarus: Evidence of Perjury.”

In Monday's BlazeTV video, Baker uses time-stamped video clips recorded by the Capitol's CCTV cameras to reveal minute-by-minute details of Lazarus' whereabouts inside the Capitol.

Lazaro testified that he saw Dunn with the Oath Keepers, but Baker said he “corroborated” Dunn's testimony, while surveillance video showed Lazarus “was in another building.” Baker reported that it was “impossible” for Lazarus to see Dunn with the Oath Keepers because of the footage shown. It was 400 meters away” at the time.

Additionally, Baker said the newly released video showing Lazarus' location was “never released” to the Oath Keepers' defense attorneys at the time of the trial.

“This should shake up the Capitol Police,” Baker said in a BlazeTV video Monday. “We received a message from a source. [Department of Justice] In Washington, they said they were “horrified'' by the story. ”

Then there are screenshots of internal emails purportedly exchanged between top Capitol Police officers obtained by Baker. Mr Baker said he was “concerned about the attention” the article was receiving.

“It's interesting that the Capitol Police are more worried about the traction of their story than they are about the lies told on the stand by special agents in the Oath Keepers trial,” Baker countered. .

Capitol Police did not immediately respond to Blaze News' request for comment on the newly released Capitol security camera video of Lazarus.
