A southern Pennsylvania school board has voted to reinstate the school district's old mascot logo depicting a Native American fighter, despite criticism that it is outdated and culturally insensitive.
The Southern York County School District voted 7-2 Thursday to reinstate the logo. The logo was retired in April 2021 by the previous board, which also chose to keep the Susquehannock High School team name as “Warriors.”

The school board has five new members elected last November after running for office using the old mascot in campaign materials, changing the majority's position on the logo issue.
