On Friday's broadcast of HBO's “Real Time,” author Andrew Sullivan said it's clear that 2024 Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump “doesn't respect democratic norms” and that he doesn't like the election results. “What a democracy has to do is, do we vote this person back or not? And if so, that's what we have to accept.” That is what democracy means.”
Sullivan said Trump “denies that almost every election he disagrees with was conducted fairly.” So, the question is, is a crazy person like this?—and I agree with you, he is a crazy person, he is a despicable person, he is a dangerous person. I don't want him anywhere. However, you cannot defeat him this way. …Everyone has seen this man's lack of respect for democratic norms, and everyone has seen him trying to recover from his defeat in the last election. they already know that. There's no better way to prove it. What democracy needs to do is vote this person back or not. And if so, that's what we have to accept, that's what democracy means. ”
