Why Are We Giving Money to Mayorkas then Go to the Cameras and Talk About Impeaching Him?

Appearing on FBN's “Kabuto: Coast to Coast” on Friday, Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) criticized the wisdom of funding the government under the direction of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. They raised questions and called for his impeachment.

“First of all, I just met with one of the mayors, the mayors who represent the cities in the district that I represent,” Roy said. “And I talk to people all the time about what's going on in Texas. And I can tell you they're not excited about what's coming out of the Senate or the White House. And I respect what the president has said. But I don't think he has any particular preferences. He has no idea what this bill is about. He doesn't know the finer details of what is actually being discussed. Frankly. We only know bits and pieces of information coming out of the Senate. We've seen some of it too, but to no avail.”

“Look, it’s not just about bringing back Trump policies,” he continued. “We need to actually enforce the existing laws and clarify the laws so that they are not violated as they are now. That means detain, deport, or stay in Mexico. . That's what we did with HR2. It's not complicated. As far as releasing people, Mayorkas released 85 to 90 percent of all the people he encountered. We knew they weren't true asylum seekers. I know that. These are people who just want to come to this country. I don't hate them.”

“But we will never be able to stop the crisis if we allow all these numbers to come,” Roy added. “Texas is being left holding the bag. So, yes, I oppose it. And I also oppose the Republicans funding it. That's what I said on the floor yesterday. James Madison Why are we talking about impeaching Alejandro Mayorkas on camera and giving him more money instead of doing the job he said was using the power of the wallet to stop impeachment? Is it an out-of-control executive? So I think that’s what we need to do.”
