Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson endorsed Nikki Haley on Saturday ahead of Tuesday's Republican primary in New Hampshire.

“Anyone who believes Donald Trump will unite this country has been asleep for the past eight years,” Hutchinson wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Trump is intentionally trying to divide America and will continue to do so. Go @NikkiHaley in New Hampshire. #FITN.”

Hutchinson's endorsement of Haley comes less than a week after Haley withdrew as a presidential candidate after failing to win support in the Iowa caucuses.

Former presidential candidates Vikek Ramaswamy and Sen. Tim Scott (RS.C.) have already endorsed Trump.

Hutchinson is the first 2024 presidential candidate to endorse Haley.

Mr. Hutchinson has been a harsh critic of Mr. Trump, and was booed last year after he said in front of a Republican crowd that Mr. Trump was likely to be convicted of a felony before the election was over. Ta.

He said early last year after Trump was first indicted that he should withdraw from the campaign, saying it would be a “sideshow and distraction” during the campaign.

Haley came in third in Iowa, narrowly behind Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, but finished second in New Hampshire to Trump, who also won Iowa. But Trump won Iowa by 30 points and held a 2-to-1 digital lead in New Hampshire.
