‘Libs of TikTok’ creator appointed to Oklahoma library advisory committee

The creator of the TikTok social media account Libs was appointed to a position with the Oklahoma State Department of Education on Tuesday.

Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters announced that Chaya Reichik has been appointed to the Oklahoma State Department of Education's (OSDE) Library Media Advisory Committee (LMAC).

Lajczyk previously worked as a real estate agent in Brooklyn. In 2021, she launched @LibsofTikTok on her X, previously known as Twitter.

“Libs of TikTok” has gained over 2.8 million followers since its inception.

Lajczyk's appointment was met with opposition from some members of Congress, with some questioning his qualifications.
