Parents of students involved in fighting at a Philadelphia high school say they believe the student visited the school this week and was physically involved in the fight that was captured on video, resulting in the school being placed on lockdown. The police were notified.
What are the details?
“Stop, stop, stop,” an adult yelled in the hallway of Paul Robeson High School, trying to break up a fight between two girls. WTXF-TV reported.
The station said a person who wished to remain anonymous shared footage of the fight with WTXF on a cell phone, which the station blurred.
The video shows one of the girls grabbing another by the hair as the girl throws a punch and slams her into a locker, the station said. At one point, an adult tried to break up the fight, but then walked away, apparently trying to get help, WTXF said, adding that two people, believed to be male students, tried to break up the fight.
The station said another video shows at least one person emerging from the scuffle with a bloody face, a woman trying to restrain the girl in the school office, and another woman trying to restrain her. The video also shows him pulling the girl away.
WTXF said the cause of Monday's fight was unknown, adding that police had suspended the students.
Philadelphia School District officials told the department, adding that several of the student's family members came to the school and got into a physical fight, forcing the school to call police and the Department of School Safety.
Officials also told WTXF that students were moved to classrooms and the lockdown lasted about an hour.
