Former President Donald Trump ended the situation Tuesday, officially clinching a third consecutive term as Republican president, as New Hampshire primary voters decide between Trump and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley. I am aiming to become a candidate.
Haley, Trump's last remaining challenger in the Republican primary, is trying to chart a course beyond New Hampshire to her home state of South Carolina and beyond to Super Tuesday, a difficult presidential race. He shows a sense of utter hopelessness in the challenge. Polls ahead of the New Hampshire primary show Mr. Trump with a wide majority of support in the Granite State, while Ms. Haley falls well short of double digits.
As with Iowa on January 15th, the big question for the remaining Republican candidates is what the final margin will be. There's basically no doubt that Trump will win, but if Haley were to win, it would be an absolute shocker for her to win — so the variables here are how much the final margin is. It's a matter of whether and how soon the race is called. If New Hampshire is a repeat of Iowa – as polls suggest it is – Haley is essentially dead in the water with no path to the nomination. There is a possibility that he may withdraw from the campaign as early as tonight. But if she wins a shock victory, or finishes in second place by a narrow digit in the low single digits to President Trump, she will likely continue campaigning through the South Carolina primary in February, and then perhaps on Super Tuesday. would proceed to the later states. And some before that.

Haley isn't even in the Nevada caucus, but she is a candidate in the U.S. Virgin Islands caucus. Both caucuses will be held on the same day, February 8, several weeks before the South Carolina primary. So the next major race beyond New Hampshire is the South Carolina primary, the first in the South, and Haley will continue to do so after Tuesday, as Trump has the support of both U.S. senators and incumbents. If he stays in the race, he will likely face even more favorable conditions. Governor of South Carolina and many others. Polls show Trump's lead in South Carolina is even larger than in New Hampshire and Iowa, and there is essentially no path for Haley to continue her campaign after New Hampshire. But the question of whether she recognizes and accepts reality remains to be seen and will largely be determined by the margins in Tuesday's Northeast primaries.
On the Democratic side, incumbent President Joe Biden isn't even on the ballot in New Hampshire, but his supporters are pushing back against his two primary challengers, Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minnesota). ) has started a write-in campaign to avoid embarrassment at the hands of ). Author Marianne Williamson. Technically, no delegates to the Democratic National Convention are in contention in the Granite State, as a result of a spat between the Democratic National Committee and the New Hampshire Democratic Party over the dates of the primaries. That altercation is the reason Biden isn't on the ballot. –But if the incumbent president cannot easily thwart such challenges, it could cause problems in subsequent campaigns.

In other words, Mr. Trump has a path to clinch the Republican presidential nomination in New Hampshire on Tuesday night, while Mr. Biden sees the start of a long battle for the Democratic nomination in the state that same night. Very likely. Both battles could hinge on how Democratic-leaning independents break down. Will they vote for Haley in the Republican primary, or will writing in the incumbent president in the Democratic primary help Biden secure the party's nomination? You cannot vote for both.
Voting will close at 7 p.m. ET in most of New Hampshire and at 8 p.m. ET in the rest of New Hampshire. On the Republican side, results are expected to start trickling in after 7 p.m. ET, while on the Democratic side, things are expected to take much longer as they count the large number of posts, possibly dragging into Wednesday morning. there is a possibility. It takes a lot of effort and time to vote for a candidate who isn't even on the ballot. CNN is currently refraining from calling the Republican primary, but did call for candidate Biden to enter the Democratic primary through a write-in campaign.
Updated at 8pm ET:
Voting is now closed across New Hampshire. It is expected that the network will begin calling for competition soon. They predict that Trump will defeat Haley in the New Hampshire primary. The question here is what the margins will look like in the end.
Updated at 7:52 PM ET:
According to the New York Times, the current response rate is 17%, with Trump's lead just a few tenths of a percentage point away from double digits. Trump dropped to 54.4% and Haley to 44.7%. This is rapidly moving away from Haley. The final vote will be over in a matter of minutes, so quick network calls against Trump are expected.

It's clear that the CNN panelists are doing everything they can to help Haley's campaign cope with what is shaping up to be a devastating loss, and to keep Haley's campaign alive beyond Tuesday night. Some of them are backing Haley with all their might, but with polls closing in the rest of New Hampshire in less than 15 minutes and a formal phone call to President Trump just around the corner, the situation will quickly shift toward Haley. Things could get worse for him.
Updated at 7:45pm ET:

Unsurprisingly, Wasserman also said he would support Biden in the Democratic primary.
I've seen enough. Joe Biden (Democrat) wins the Democratic presidential primary in New Hampshire.

Technically speaking, the final results may not be available until tomorrow. Because, as mentioned above, Biden will have to run a write-in campaign and it will take much longer to count the votes than the candidates on the ballot. However, the Democratic National Committee penalized New Hampshire for bringing forward its plan to take South Carolina first, meaning Biden will receive zero delegates from that state.
Updated at 7:26pm ET:
The current reporting rate is 7%, giving Trump a 7% lead over Haley. That lead appears to be widening as the vote count continues. At this stage, Haley's future looks bleak.
Updated at 7:23pm ET:
Cook Political Report's Dave Wasserman has already called Trump's campaign, saying Trump beat Haley in the New Hampshire primary.
We've seen enough of Donald Trump (R) defeating Nikki Haley (R) in New Hampshire's Republican presidential primary.

This early decision is bad for Haley's prospects and is a sign of growing pressure on her to end her campaign tonight. Many broadcasters plan to postpone holding the general election until after 8 p.m. ET, when remaining votes are counted, the most dire outcome for Ms. Haley's prospects for continuing her campaign.
Updated at 7:16pm ET:
According to the New York Times, with about 3% currently reporting, Trump has caught up and surpassed Haley for the lead. He currently leads by a few hundred votes, about 3 percentage points.
Updated at 7:13pm ET:
In New Hampshire, about 1 percent is currently reporting, and Haley's lead is just over a few hundred votes in the early stages. This is at a very early stage and viewers won't be able to read too much into this.
Updated at 7pm ET:
Voting is now closed in most of New Hampshire. Remaining voting ends at 8pm ET. Early results are expected soon.
Updated at 6:58pm ET:
Ms. Haley has become increasingly desperate to keep her campaign alive beyond New Hampshire heading into tonight, with staffers trying to protect her from pressure to drop out Tuesday night in two different ways. going through the motions. The first move was to announce a rally in South Carolina on Wednesday, and the second was to release a memo outlining Super Tuesday strategy. But even if Ms. Haley survives with a strong showing on Tuesday night, her path forward will be extremely difficult, with pressure mounting within the party to unite behind Mr. Trump. He is the favorite with a high probability of winning.
Updated at 6:53pm ET:
The new narrative is that leftists infiltrated the Republican primary to try to shift the Republican race away from Trump and toward Haley, as large numbers of undeclared voters were found to be registered. Because of this, it may become a hot topic tonight.
