Bills Kicker Tyler Bass Quits from Social Media After Receiving Death Threats Following Missed Kick

Bills kicker Tyler Bass has left social media after receiving death threats after missing a game-tying field goal at the end of Sunday's game between the Bills and the Chiefs.

Bass became the latest Bills kicker to hit the postseason-defining kick to right in a crucial game to end the team's season.

According to Buffalo's WGRZ, Bass deactivated his social media accounts after receiving death threats.

After the game, Bass refused to place the blame on anyone but himself.

“Eventually, you can let me wear it,” Bass said. “I've got to do a better job of defending my goals. I've got to do a better job of playing left to right a little bit better. I've been playing here a long time, so that's what you have to do. I knew that. … It didn't work out. I feel terrible. I love this team, but this team hurts so much.”

To counter the negativity directed at the kicker, Ten Lives Club, a Bass-backed no-kill cat shelter, defended the embattled kicker and encouraged fans to share his name. By donating to Moto, I was given a chance to change the situation positively.

“We stand with Tyler Bass. Please don't bully our friends, we just heard the terrible news that Tyler Bass is receiving threats after yesterday's game. “Our phone continues to ring with people wanting to donate $22 to Lives Club,” the group said. Posted on our Instagram page.

“Tyler does not deserve the hate he is receiving. He is a good soccer player and an even better man who took the time to support our organization and rescue cats this past year. Person. Please leave our friend alone.”

The $22 donation matches Bass' second place.

As of Tuesday morning, WGRZ reports $28,194 in donations had been made in Bass' name.
