Carrie Underwood is enjoying motherhood in Nashville.

She recently shared a series of photos and videos on Instagram of her youngest son, Jacob, celebrating his fifth birthday by playing hockey on a frozen pond near their home.

“A special birthday for a special 5 year old!!! Our pond was frozen in perfect conditions for night skating! What a joy!!! Happy Birthday, Jake! We wouldn't have it any other way I don’t think I wanted it!” she wrote in the caption.

Underwood is also the mother of son Isaiah, who turns 9 next month, with husband Mike Fisher.

The family welcomed the snowy weather ahead of their return to Las Vegas for a residency at Resorts World Theater in March.

They purchased their property in Tennessee in 2011 and have lived there since 2018, when work on their home was completed. The property is affectionately referred to as EH-OK Farm by the family and includes a barn to house the cows and horses.

Underwood told Country Living in 2016 that she and Fisher are building a “forever home” but tend to keep their home life private.

She explained to Redbook in 2016 that her on-stage persona is different from the “real” Carrie Underwood.

“I love being on stage, but it's different. That's not Carrie. That's Carrie Underwood. For the rest of my life, I feel incredibly let down by people. For example. , if I run into someone at the grocery store, I'm not really like,' '' she said.

In 2016, when Isaiah was almost two years old, she spoke to Redbook about being a first-time mother and working on the streets.

Underwood takes his family on tour whenever possible. Although she has won multiple Grammy Awards, the people she wants to impress the most are her sons.

In a 2019 Instagram post, she shared a photo of one of her sons watching on stage and captioned it, “One of my favorite things about #CryPrettyTour360 is being able to travel with my family. That's all I can hope for.'' I want my sons to be proud of their mom. ”

The Oklahoma native recently shared a video of her sons watching the show during her 2022 tour, saying, “One was blowing me a kiss…one was fast asleep.”

She further explained in the caption, “My sweet boys came to see their mama's first show! Jakey listened to at least a few songs before drifting off to dreamland…”

Underwood said her sons still don't quite understand that their mother is a superstar.

“I feel like Isaiah, who is 7 1/2 years old, is starting to become more aware that this is not normal,” she told Today in 2022.

“He'll go to school, and someone will say, 'I saw your mom on TV last night,'” Underwood added. “He's starting to notice that his mother is doing something unusual.”

When Underwood gets a rare glimpse of her sons on social media, she tends to cover their faces and only photograph them from behind.

Although she didn't mention any specific changes in her approach, she did mention her frustrations with social media bullying in a 2016 interview with Redbook.

“I feel like bullies have changed the way I react to the world,” she told the magazine. “You want to connect with your fans, and I used to feel like I could talk to people and communicate through social media. But you end up in a situation where there are too many mean people saying mean things. Maybe just to get a reaction from you — and ultimately I thought, “I don't know if I can do this.”

“It's sad that we have to put up barriers.”

During an appearance on “Today” in 2023, Underwood said that she and other parents at her son's school are trying to keep their children off their phones and social media “for as long as possible.” revealed.

“There's a whole grassroots kind of effort going on within schools, where a lot of parents are coming together and talking about how they can keep their kids away from technology,” she said. “I especially like things like social media, for as long as possible.”
