Border Patrol agents intercepted two human smuggling operations earlier this week at the southern border near El Paso, Texas, where at least 40 illegal immigrants were found crammed into several vehicles.
El Paso District Patrol Chief Anthony “Scott” Good posted an image on X-Monday showing 24 undocumented immigrants crammed into at least two vehicles.
In one of the images, about 11 men can be seen lying down and stuffed into the bed of a white pickup truck. The men were covered with tarpaulins. In another image, several men and women can be seen crammed into the back of another vehicle.

Good wrote that the Santa Teresa Border Patrol's anti-smuggling unit and special operations detachment, as well as the Texas Department of Public Safety, worked together to thwart the smuggling operation.
“Teamwork [with] Our law enforcement partners are key,” Good wrote.
On Tuesday, Goode featured X again, posting about the bust of a human smuggling case involving 16 migrants who were “packed dangerously and transported in a small SUV.”
“The smugglers transported these people with no regard for their lives,” Good wrote.

One image shows migrants, mostly men, sitting on concrete with their faces hidden. Another image shows an empty mini SUV colliding with another vehicle.
It is unclear whether the migrants were detained or whether anyone was arrested for smuggling activities. Fox News Digital reached out to Customs and Border Protection for additional information, but did not immediately receive a response.
The incident comes after encounters with illegal immigrants at the U.S. southern border hit a record high last month, blowing away previous statistics.

Customs and Border Protection officials told Fox News Digital that the number of encounters with migrants will reach a staggering 300,000 in the final months of 2023, an increase unimaginable just a few years ago. He said he reached a level he had never been able to reach before.
From December 1st to December 31st, more than 302,000 migrants were recorded attempting to cross the US southern border.
This was the highest single-month total ever. This is also the first time that the number of encounters with immigrants has exceeded 300,000.
