NH Gov. Chris Sununu Pushing for Democrats to Vote for Nikki Haley in South Carolina

New Hampshire Governor (R) is a primary Republican supporter of South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and has openly encouraged Democrats to vote for their preferred president in South Carolina. It celebrates its open primary status.

He appeared on Pulse of New Hampshire this week after Haley lost to Trump in Sununu's own state, and given the fact that Haley is an open major state in South Carolina, many I suggested that “opportunity” would work. Democrats can vote in the Republican primary.

“In South Carolina, if you're a Democrat, you can walk in the door and vote. There's a lot of opportunity there,” he reportedly said.

Sunnu's path forward to Haley isn't much different than the path her team laid out before the loss in New Hampshire. .

The memo adds that 11 of the 16 Super Tuesday states have open or “semi-open” primaries. In other words, the campaign believes there is “significant fertile ground” for Haley on Super Tuesday, drawing in non-conservative voters.

“After Super Tuesday, we will have a very good picture of where this race is,” the memo reads, instructing everyone to “take a deep breath” beforehand.

In other words, regardless of the outcome of the New Hampshire primary, Haley intends to rely on moderates and independents rather than the conservative base to help her defeat Trump.

According to CNN exit polls, 70% of Haley, New Hampshire voters had not registered as a Republican before Election Day.
