Taylor Sheridan, a prominent writer and producer known for the series Yellowstone, criticized the left for undermining the rule of law with what he describes as dangerous legal maneuvers against President Donald Trump and his administration.
In a recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience, Sheridan expressed concern about Democrats’ actions, suggesting they set a troubling precedent for the future of the U.S.
“What we’re witnessing is quite alarming,” he mentioned to Rogan. “People have their opinions about the president—some love him, some don’t. But now, he’s challenging the rule of law while being the head of the government.”
He elaborated, saying, “The outcome will be, ‘I can’t stand this guy, he’s a horrible president, so why should I follow the law?’ That seems to be becoming the new normal,” highlighting what he views as Democrats’ reluctance to adhere to federal regulations.
Sheridan added, “So when the president supports a certain law, the opposing side—given this new precedent—feels entitled to ignore it. Consequently, we’ve damaged the rule of law. What follows from that?”
Rogan nodded in agreement, commenting, “Slippery slopes can be very hazardous.”
Sheridan also criticized the current political climate in Washington, stating, “These politicians are failing us tremendously. It seems like our elected representatives aren’t thinking about future elections, or maybe never have.”
“Now we find ourselves in a situation where there’s talk of abolishing the Electoral College, the filibuster, court-packing—whatever it takes to shift power in their favor, even temporarily. It feels like they want to completely overhaul government structures to benefit themselves, but that could backfire,” he noted.
He proposed a solution, suggesting, “I believe implementing term limits is crucial. Perhaps a maximum of 12 years in Congress, including the Senate. They currently serve two six-year terms; that should suffice.”
He also pointed out the immense wealth of Nancy Pelosi, questioning, “How is Nancy Pelosi worth $400 million? It seems questionable…”
“She seems to be involved in IPOs. She’s likely backing legislation that benefits Visa’s public offerings, reaping huge rewards, then denies it outright when questioned,” Sheridan exclaimed, expressing his frustration. “Her denials are just lies. We all know what you’ve done. It’s madness,” he concluded.
