Georgia State Senate Approves Corruption Probe into Fani Willis

The Georgia Senate on Friday approved the initiation of a subpoena investigation against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis by a vote of 30-19.

The investigation was conducted by a Senate committee and was exclusively reported by Breitbart News on Monday. This follows Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) refusing to open a criminal investigation against Willis, citing the need for a currently defunct oversight board to launch an investigation. be.

Willis has been accused of fraud and corruption during the prosecution of former President Donald Trump. Republicans filed in court in January that Mike Roman, a political operative and Trump's co-defendant in the Georgia election case, filed four explosive charges about Willis' conduct during the Trump prosecution. I became more wary of what I had done.

  1. Nathan Wade, Willis' lead prosecutor in the Trump case, had an “inappropriate” relationship with Willis.
  2. Wade's law firm used funds paid by the county to take Willis on lavish vacations with potentially fraudulent payments.
  3. Mr. Wade was appointed without the necessary regulatory approval and had little experience as a prosecutor.
  4. Willis and Wade met twice with President Joe Biden's White House advisers before indicting Trump in August, and are questioning whether the White House is cooperating with Biden's 2024 prosecution of his political opponents. There are questions about this.

A resolution filed by Georgia Sen. Greg Dolezal (R-Forsyth) says the Senate committee will issue a subpoena to “secure the attendance of witnesses and the production of documents and materials” related to Willis. will have authority.

The commission, the only one of its kind in Georgia, is made up of nine senators, only three of whom are Democrats. The Mandate Committee appoints the members of the committee.

“The Georgia Legislature has a responsibility to hold public officials accountable,” Georgia Lieutenant Governor Bert Jones exclusively told Breitbart News on Monday. “The recent reports are deeply disturbing and we thank Senator Dolezal for her leadership on this issue.”

The Senate investigation is the latest effort to hold Fulton County prosecutors accountable. In January, a Georgia judge ordered Willis to “respond” in writing to his corruption charges by Feb. 2. washington post report. The order requires prosecutors to speak on television about the charges on February 15th.

In addition, Willis and Wade are expected to be subpoenaed regarding the affair allegations during Wade's ongoing unsealed divorce proceedings. This potential information could reveal an “inappropriate” relationship between Willis and Wade during the lawsuit against Trump.
