Fulton County resident leaves local politicians in ‘stunned silence’ with tongue-lashing over Fani Willis scandal

Fulton County residents made headlines this week for reprimanding local leaders over the growing scandal involving Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

At Wednesday's Fulton County Commission meeting, a man named Derrick Blasingame accused the board of five Democrats and two Republicans of “gross mismanagement” of taxpayers. The Willis incident proves this, he said.

“No more Fulton County fumbling with our elections. No more gross taxpayer mismanagement of this organization by the Fulton County Democratic Party,” Blasingame said.

“As a taxpayer, I am disgusted by the information coming out of the District Attorney's Office. Everyone, for the apparent love affair between the DA's office and the special prosecutor, and the gross mismanagement of the taxpayers in pursuit of what appears to be. “Enough is the end of the silence on this frivolous lawsuit based on partisan politics,” he continued.

Finally, Blassingame called for an “immediate financial audit by the County Auditor of the District Attorney's Office.”

“It appears that the DA's office is trying to protect past elections, but information and belief suggest that they are trying to sabotage future elections by trying to convict candidates before the general election,” he said.

After Blassingame's tongue-lashing, the committee remained silent.

Willis, a Democrat, is accused of having a romantic relationship with Nathan Wade, the special counsel she hired to help investigate former President Donald Trump. Wade has been paid more than $600,000 by taxpayers for his investigative work.

Willis claimed the accusations against him were motivated by racial animus. She has not directly denied her relationship with Wade, nor has she directly addressed her accusations. But that may change soon.

The judge overseeing Willis' election interference case has ordered him to respond to the charges next month. And according to CNNMr. Willis and Mr. Wade could be summoned to a court hearing next month regarding the allegations.

Willis, part of former federal prosecutor Ankush Khardri's problem explainedthat's what prosecutors should do when she faces accusations of fraud: “Be honest and forthright in any case, no matter how embarrassing the truth may ultimately be.” In other words, he did the exact opposite.

“It had the completely predictable effect of making it seem like she was hiding something very serious,” Caldori said.
