Texas police arrest man found Bloodstained after his wife was shot and killed in their San Antonio apartment.
Police said they responded to a call from the Oak Creek Apartments around 7 a.m. Monday, and when they arrived they found a 44-year-old man covered in blood from the waist up and acting strangely.
“He was walking up and down the sidewalk here and was just acting very strange.” Said Sergeant Steven Bratina. “Someone called because they thought they might be stuck in traffic.”
While police were responding to the man, another emergency call came in.
“At the same time, we received a call that a body had been found inside the apartment,” Bratina said. “Officers then entered the scene and did indeed find the body of a female.”
When they spoke to the man, he said he was covered in his 51-year-old wife’s blood. They arrested the man without incident and charged him with murder.
Police said they found a gun near the crime scene and believe it may have been the murder weapon, but that it will be determined through identification.
Maira Orta, who lives in the victim’s neighborhood, told KENS-TV that she heard a loud bang and went back to sleep just as police arrived to confront the man.
“I did hear what sounded like gunshots, but I said it might have been fireworks. I never looked in, but he was just yelling, using the F-word, and I thought maybe it was fireworks.” I thought the other person was drunk or something,” Orta said.
“I feel sorry for the person who died. But something like this is happening so close to my home, it makes me feel okay and just be a little more careful. “There are,” she added.
