Former NBA champion guard Rajon Rondo was arrested Sunday in Indiana on charges of illegal possession of a firearm, drug paraphernalia and marijuana. By WDRB of Indiana.

Rondo, who played 16 seasons in the NBA, was stopped for a traffic violation in Jackson County, Indiana, and a police officer smelled marijuana, the newspaper reported, citing court records and an Indiana State Police spokesperson. Ta.
A search revealed Rondo, 37, was in possession of a gun, a “personal use” amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, said Indiana State Police spokesman Sgt. Stephen Wheels told WDRB on Monday night.
According to the report, Rondo is not allowed to possess a gun due to a court order prohibiting contact and was transported to a Jackson County bail center, Wheels told WDRB.
The two-time NBA champion posted bail “immediately,” according to Wheeles, but reports say it’s unclear when he will be arraigned.
Rondo has dealt with legal issues before.
In 2022, an emergency protective order was filed against Rondo in Louisville, Kentucky, but it was later withdrawn after “the parties reached an agreement.” According to ESPN.
The woman claims in her motion for a protective order that Rondo threatened her with a gun and that she feared for the safety of her children, according to the report.

She added that Rondo has a history of “erratic, erratic (and) explosive behavior,” according to ESPN.
Rondo last played in the NBA in 2021-22, and is best known for his nine seasons with the Celtics and the Cavaliers.
The point guard helped Boston win the NBA championship in his second season in 2007-08, and also won a title with the Lakers in 2019-20.
The Kentucky native averaged 9.8 points and 7.9 rebounds per game during his career and appeared in four consecutive All-Star Games from 2010 to 2013.
He also played for the Kings, Bulls, Pelicans, Mavericks, Hawks and Clippers, leading the league in assists three times.
