First appearance on Fox: A conservative legal group filed a lawsuit against Hunter Biden on Wednesday, filing a complaint with the Professional Responsibility Board of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals alleging “professional misconduct” by the president’s son.
The complaint filed by America First Legal (AFL) alleges that Hunter engaged in a pattern and practice of professional misconduct and violated District of Columbia Professional Conduct Rule 8.4. The group said this “raises serious questions about his integrity and credibility.” and his suitability as a lawyer. ”
According to the AFL, Rule 8.4 states that “a lawyer shall not engage in conduct that involves dishonesty, deceit, deception, misrepresentation, or state or imply that he or she has the ability to ‘undue influence’ an official of a government agency” in the profession. It stipulates that this is an illegal act.

The group says the rule stipulates that “many types of offenses, including crimes involving fraud and crimes of willful failure to file income tax returns, adversely affect fitness to practice law.” It is noteworthy that this is a clear reference to federal taxes. “There is substantial evidence to suggest that Mr. Biden engaged in professional misconduct contrary to Rule 8.4,” the AFL said. Reid D. Rubinstein, Senior Counsel and Director of Oversight and Investigations, told FOX News Digital in a statement.
“The public’s trust in the integrity of lawyers requires that rules of professional conduct be applied consistently and fairly, and for that to happen there must be one standard. all Membership of the Bar without regard to the Bar’s particular political affiliation or family ties. An investigation into Mr. Biden is certainly warranted here.”

Hunter pleaded not guilty in his first appearance in federal court earlier this month after being charged with tax crimes. Special Counsel David Weiss investigation.
Weiss indicted Hunter in December, alleging a “four-year conspiracy” in which the president’s son failed to pay federal income taxes from January 2017 to October 2020 and also filed false tax returns. His trial is scheduled to begin on June 20th.
Hunter also faces federal firearms charges in Delaware, including lying about drug use on paperwork to purchase a gun he kept for about 11 days in October 2018. It will be done. He pleaded not guilty to all charges in October and could be sentenced to up to 25 years in prison if convicted.

On Tuesday, his lawyers again moved to dismiss the charges, arguing that a diversion agreement previously reached by the Justice Department and his defense team should remain in effect. A judge rejected the agreement in July.
Mr. Hunter also faces ongoing investigations by the House Oversight Committee and the Judiciary Committee into allegations that his father spread foreign business and influence while serving as vice president.
Earlier this month, the AFL also filed a complaint with the California Bar against Hunter’s lawyer, Kevin Morris, alleging violations of California’s professional ethics rules.
