A 79-year-old middle school employee, now retired, was arrested on suspicion of sending inappropriate text and Snapchat messages to minor children.
Sue Ann Ash was accused of providing inappropriate material to a minor known to her in September, the same month she retired from her job as a paraprofessional at Kalkaska Middle School in Michigan. According to UpNorthLive.
Michigan State Police in Houghton Lake began an investigation after receiving a tip that she was sending emails and messages to an unidentified youth on a social media app. According to MLive.
After the victim was interviewed at the Traverse City Child Advocacy Center, a search warrant was obtained for Ash’s home and multiple electronic devices were seized, police said.
The device was sent to the State Police Computer Crimes Unit for analysis.
Authorities have not released details of the message.

A felony warrant was issued on January 8, and Ash turned himself in.
She was charged Monday with having an audience with children for immoral purposes and was held in the Kalkaska County Jail on $5,000 bail.
The charges cover a wide range of indecent acts.
Kalkaska Public Schools Superintendent Rick Heitmeyer told UpNorthLive that Ash worked for the district from 2012 until his retirement.
He told the outlet that he had not been contacted by authorities about any investigation into Ashe’s alleged activities.
