The Kansas City Chiefs will likely enter Super Bowl III without a key defensive lineman when they face a tough San Francisco 49ers offensive line on February 11th.
Chiefs defensive end Charles Omenihu will be forced to miss the Super Bowl after tearing his AFC ligament in the AFC Championship Game against the Baltimore Ravens, according to multiple reports. He appeared to confirm the news by posting a heartbroken emoji to X on Monday.

The Chiefs’ defense has been a big bright spot for the team this season. Kansas City finished the year ranked second in points and yards allowed. It was the first time since the 2015 season that he finished in the top five in one of those categories.
It needed to be a great year because the offense is so fluid and Patrick Mahomes’ weapons aren’t working as well as they have in past years.

Omenihu joined the Chiefs in the offseason after spending more than a year with the 49ers. He appeared in 11 games, recording seven sacks, 18 tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles. He had a strip sack against the Ravens before going down with the injury.
The rest of the defensive line will be under pressure to step up and put enough pressure on 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy to force mistakes. The secondary will be responsible for corralling Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle while also keeping an eye on Christian McCaffrey’s big break.
