A Christian film starring Dennis Quaid based on a true story has soared up the Netflix charts to No. 1 nearly five months after its theatrical release, and has won major mainstream awards in recent days.
faith based movies the hill hit No. 1 on Netflix’s Top 10 Movies chart at the end of January and climbed to No. 5 on Thursday, exciting the cast and crew of the film, which was released in theaters at the end of August and on Netflix in January. Ta. The chart fluctuates regularly, but it stayed at number one for at least six days.

the hill On January 27th, the film reached a new milestone when it won the Academy Award for Best Family Feature Film. Family Film and Television Awards,edging Barbie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate and Shazam!rage of the gods. The award ceremony was broadcast on CBS.
The film follows the true story of Ricky Hill, a boy who was born with a degenerative spinal cord disease but developed an uncanny ability to hit a baseball by practicing with stones and sticks, despite his limp. It is something. Hill faced bullying from his classmates and opposition from his father, a Baptist minister, but he grew up to become a professional baseball player. Starring Quaid (Blue miracle, I can only imagine it) and Colin Ford (Walker, Thousand Tomorrows) and co-authored with Angelo Pizzo, who is best known for his writing. Rudy (1993) and Hoosiers (1986).
“I was struck by how it was touching people and what it was doing for them,” Celentano told Christian Headlines.
It took Celentano 17 years to build it, he said.
“When I read the script, I rolled my eyes and burst into tears and never looked back. It just went into my soul. Just like Ricky was determined to play baseball, so I was determined to play this movie. I was determined to make it. And I had no choice. People were like, “Jeff, let’s just give up and move on.” It took many years. ” …I fell in love with this story and the incredible resilience of this young boy who was crippled but ended up taking it all on his shoulders and trying out for the major leagues. Ta. ”
Celentano said the film is relatable.
“Every little boy and every town across America can relate to being bullied and made fun of,” he said. “…he just kept smiling. That’s what attracted me — like [he had] Unconditional love for everyone. And his faith in God permeated him. ”
Hill said his decision “came out naturally.”
“When you have to fight for the first few years of your life, you’re always fighting and trying to walk and do all those things. It’s just built in,” Hill told Christian Headline. “And whatever I wanted to do, I wanted to be the best. It just occurred to me. God gave me the ability to get it. Also, my father always said, He said, “If God gave you that ability, if you don’t use it, God will take it away from you.” So I used it in every way I could. Did. ”
“…I was born with problems. I didn’t let them bring me down. I’m still here. I still have the same belief. It’s so powerful, I’m very strong. I fought, I kept my faith, and I completed the course.”
