Brittany Mahomes has Taylor Swift on her side.
Brittany, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, took to her Instagram Story to repost a comment from TNT personality Charles Barkley, who defended Swift against accusations that he “ruined” football.
“Let. They. Know.” Brittany said in the post that Barkley told Gayle King on Wednesday’s CNN show “King Charles” that Swift is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. He said that those who criticized him were “losers”.
“If you’re screaming that you ruined Taylor Swift, [football,] You’re just a loser.” Berkeley said.
That was the clean version.
“I’m going to look right at that camera. If you’re screaming that Taylor Swift ruined football, you’re just a loser,” the former NBA star said. “You’re either just a loser or just an idiot.”
Barkley isn’t the only sports media personality to go on record defending Swift.
Fox Sports host Colin Cowherd pulled out the receipts and stats when he went to bat for the “Cruel Summer” singer on his show “The Herd” earlier this week.
Amidst a whirlwind romance with Kelce that dominated sports and pop culture headlines, Swift has been at the center of criticism that he is not a good fit for the NFL.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell previously told “CBS Mornings” that Swift brought a whole new audience to the league and praised her as a tremendous talent.
According to Page Six, Swift is scheduled to attend the 2024 Super Bowl in Las Vegas on February 11th, after performing in Tokyo the day before.
