Teddy Bridgewater to coach high school football at alma mater following NFL retirement

The school’s athletic director, Andre Williams, told ESPN that Bridgewater has always maintained ties to the program and has already met with players and coaches.

“Teddy, he’s never left school,” Williams said. “He’s been in the NFL for the last 10 years, and of course in college, so he was always at school during the offseason, working out with the young guys and teaching them knowledge of the game. He’s never been in school. We just officially brought him back as our head coach because he never left.”

Bridgewater played quarterback for Miami Northwestern from 2008 to 2010, throwing for more than 5,000 yards and leading the Bulls to the state finals. He was selected by the Minnesota Vikings with the 32nd pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
