The term “Christian film” is becoming increasingly difficult to define.
Does it only refer to movies with a strong gospel message, like the Billy Graham movies from a while ago? Or can we also include movies that don’t quote the Bible but have biblical themes like forgiveness and salvation? And can they be made by Christian filmmakers and even supported by faith-based studios? What happens to the moving but non-sermonistic films that have been made?
This list includes all of the above.
The new year promises to be a solid year for Christian films. This could be the best year ever. Angel Studios has an impressive lithograph. The same goes for Kingdom Story Company. And the manufacturer is War room There are also new movies. From what I see, 2024 is raising the bar for excellence in the Christian film genre.
Here are 11 new Christian movies to look forward to in 2024.

1. Chosen person Season 4 (February)

Religious leaders join forces with the Romans to oppose Jesus.This is the latest season of the hit Bible-based series Chosen person. It includes several famous scenes from the Bible, including the death of John the Baptist, the resurrection of Lazarus from the dead, and Jesus saying to his disciples, “On this rock I will build my church.” Masu. Episodes 1-3 will be released in theaters on February 1st, followed by episodes 4-6 on February 15th, and episodes 7-8 on February 29th. 2. Gloria Gaynor: I will survive (February 13th)

The documentary depicts the low points in her life, including financial ruin, health scares, and divorce, as well as her many triumphs. “I’ve finally arrived at a place of joy and self-actualization, and I’m ready to share with the world the secrets to not just surviving, but thriving,” Gaynor said.

3. ordinary angel (February 22)

A hairdresser rallied the community and church to support a widow whose young daughter was seriously ill. The film is based on a true story set in Louisville, Kentucky in the 1990s. The film stars Alan Ritchson as widow Ed Schmidt and two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank as hairdresser Sharon Stevens. It’s one of the most moving movies I’ve ever seen. Produced by Kingdom Story Company (jesus revolution, i can only imagine). Rated PG for thematic content, brief and bloody images, and smoking.

Four. cabrini (March 8th)

An Italian woman moves to New York in the late 1800s and overcomes racism and sexism to serve the poor and start a hospital. The film tells the true story of a Catholic woman born Maria Francesca Cabrini but known to her friends as “Mother Cabrini.” The organization she founded has established hundreds of hospitals, orphanages, and schools around the world. (You won’t know that until the credits roll.) Released by Angel Studios.This is Angel Studios’ best movie to date – and it’s even better sound of freedom. Alejandro Monteverde (bella, sound of freedom) was supervised.

Five. 47 days with Jesus (March 11th, 12th, 14th)

A family facing marital discord and teenage troubles embarks on a spiritual journey to learn about the last 47 days of Jesus’ life on earth. The movie stars Yoshi Varigas (Chosen person) and Catherine Lidstone (Chosen person) Cameron Arnett as the couple (overcomer) Pontius Pilate, Joshua Triplett (Grey’s Anatomy) Peter role. Producer Kristen Brancaccio said the film “radiates hope.” She said the film “offers a gentle, non-judgmental reminder to step back and reevaluate what’s really important.”

6. someone like you (April 2)

A young man loses his best friend in a fatal tragedy, and then discovers that she had a sister he never knew. Wanting to give his deceased friend her final gift, he sets out to find her sister and tell her about her secret family. The film is based on Karen Kingsbury’s popular novel of the same name, and was the first film based on Kingsbury’s book to have a large-scale, long-running release. The film was produced by her new company, Karen Kingsbury Productions. “This is a story of reconciliation and redemption,” Kingsbury told Crosswalk.

7. The unsung hero (April 26th)

A father moves his pregnant wife and six children from Australia to the United States, but they face numerous obstacles in their new home. Set in the 1990s, the film follows David and Helen Smallbone, the parents of future CCM artists Rebecca St. James and Joel and Luke Smallbone (For King and Country). This is a true story. Starring Joel Smallbone, Daisy Betts, Lucas Black, and Candace Cameron Bure. Kingdom Story Company (Jesus revolution, I can only imagine) was produced. Rated PG for thematic elements.

11. The best Christmas pageant ever (To be determined, 2024)

Brothers from troubled backgrounds win a role in a local holiday play and teach their community the true meaning of Christmas. Based on the popular book published in 1971 The best Christmas pageant ever Written by Barbara Robinson.Dallas Jenkins, creator and director Chosen person, is directing it. Kingdom Story Company (Jesus revolution, I still believe) is being produced. “This is a dream come true and the movie I’ve wanted to make the most throughout my career,” Jenkins said.
