Biden to address party conference

The White House confirmed that President Biden will address House Democrats at the party’s annual conference on Thursday.

It will be Biden’s third time as president to speak at the House Democratic Caucus, where lawmakers gather to plan strategy and messages ahead of the 2024 election.

This retreat will be held at the Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, DC. Politico reported.

At last year’s meeting, lawmakers were preparing for Biden to announce his 2024 campaign. “We have a lot of unfinished business,” Biden reportedly told House Democrats in a meeting before the withdrawal.

In 2022, Biden addressed lawmakers ahead of the midterm elections, urging them to advance key parts of his agenda and work to maintain his slim majorities in the House and Senate.

Democrats are expected to rally around Biden’s candidacy against former President Trump, who is likely to be the Republican candidate.

The White House confirmed Friday that Vice President Kamala Harris will attend Wednesday’s meeting and moderate a conversation to discuss the administration’s “ongoing fight for fundamental freedoms,” Politico reported.
