Boeing: Problem with 737 fuselages may delay deliveries

A problem with the fuselage of Boeing 737 planes could delay near-term deliveries of about 50 planes, the airline said on Sunday.

in letter Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Stan Diehl told employees that an employee at one of Boeing’s suppliers told him that two holes in the plane’s fuselage were not drilled exactly as the company required. He said it was reported that he had sex. Mr Deal said he believed about 50 aircraft were affected and deliveries could be delayed.

“While this issue may delay some near-term 737 deliveries, given our commitment to delivering the perfect aircraft every time, this is the only course of action. The number of days set aside in the program is to allow our team time to complete inspections and make necessary remediation as needed,” Deal wrote in the letter.

Deal also said the issue was “not an immediate flight safety issue and all 737s can safely continue to operate.” He said the 737 program will spend several days at the Renton, Wash., factory focusing on quality, inspecting undelivered aircraft for “potential nonconformities.”

Boeing Co. came under intense scrutiny last month after a fuselage panel on a Boeing 737 Max 9 plane tore off an Alaska Airlines flight minutes after takeoff from Portland, Oregon, causing a mid-air explosion. It has been inspected, but since then they are starting to return to the skies.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating whether Boeing failed to ensure its planes complied with the agency’s safety regulations. , the company’s suppliers will also be investigated.
