Former President Trump hinted Monday that he has recommendations for how the Republican National Committee (RNC) can grow, and insisted he would share them after the upcoming South Carolina Republican primary.
President Trump called RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel “my friend” while hinting that her future as party chair may be uncertain.
President Trump: “The 2024 presidential election is in great shape against Crooked Joe Biden.” I wrote it on Monday He then added, “Ronna is now the head of the RNC and will make a decision on my proposals for the growth of the RNC the day after the South Carolina primary.”
In an interview aired on Fox News on Sunday, President Trump predicted there would be “changes” in McDaniel’s leadership of the committee.
When “Sunday Morning Futures” anchor Maria Bartiromo asked President Trump how McDaniel was doing, McDaniel replied: I think she did well at the RNC initially. ”
“There will probably be some changes made at this point,” he added.
Mr. McDaniel has faced criticism in recent months about the RNC’s finances and his leadership, including when he said on Fox News last month that Republicans should unite around Mr. Trump. Trump has enough delegates to become the presumptive nominee, which he said earlier this month before he was elected.
“I’m looking at the math and the path forward, and Nikki Haley doesn’t see that,” she told Fox News’ Bret Baier and Martha McCollum in late January. “I think she ran a great campaign, but I think the message that’s coming out of her voters is very clear.”
“We need to unite around the ultimate nominee, Donald Trump, and we need to make sure we defeat Joe Biden,” McDaniel said at the time.
Trump’s post on Monday come Politico reported after meeting with McDaniel at Mar-a-Lago.
On Monday, President Trump expressed confidence that he will enter South Carolina, where he has strong support, to take on former governor Nikki Haley.
In Nevada, the state Republican Party is competing in primaries and caucuses, with Haley appearing in Tuesday’s state-run primary and Trump participating in Thursday’s caucus.
“It’s been a very exciting primary season this year. We won the Iowa caucuses in record fashion, and we did the same in New Hampshire, where I polled more votes than anyone, Republican or Democrat, in New Hampshire primary history. I had the honor of winning it,” the former president said. I wrote it on Monday. “Hopefully we can continue this string of wins in Nevada, the Virgin Islands and South Carolina.”
According to The Hill/Decision Desk Headquarters national polling average, Trump maintains a commanding lead of 56.9 points with 72.5% approval rating in primary polls, compared to Haley’s approval rating. is 15.5%.
