LAS VEGAS — It was like the boos he heard from 49ers fans at Allegiant Stadium were injected directly into Chris Jones’ veins.
The biggest star on the Chiefs defense soaked up the noise of the 2024 Super Bowl “opener” on Monday, shouting back into the microphone.
This is similar to how the nation went from rooting for the Chiefs to end a 50-year Super Bowl drought in 2019 to experiencing Chiefs fatigue and demonizing the Chiefs.
“Honestly, I understand,” Jones said quietly. “People get tired of seeing the same guys win. They’re getting used to new players winning every year, and we’re very lucky that we’ve been in this situation three of the last four years. ”
So what is Jones’ message to those who hate the Chiefs?
“I appreciate the hate,” Jones said, before launching into WWE-style slap talk. “Understand your role and shut up!”
Sneed’s personal absence
Chiefs cornerback Rajarius Snead, who has been snubbed by All-Pros, did not attend.
NFL Network said his absence was due to positive personal reasons, indicating he should be back with his teammates by Wednesday’s practice.
Chiefs daily guard
The outlook for practice isn’t as rosy for Chiefs left guard Joe Thuney.
He did not play in the AFC Championship game or practice last week due to a chest injury, and told reporters he did not know if he would be able to return by Wednesday, but is taking things day by day.
Kittle will serve as GM of the Bears.
George Kittle is one of the best tight ends in the NFL right now. Maybe one of the 49ers’ star players will take on the role of general manager in the future.
Kittle gave his thoughts on what the Bears should do with their 2024 No. 1 draft pick.
The quarterback conundrum boils down to this: Trade Justin Fields and draft a top prospect like Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, or Jaden Daniels, or keep Fields and trade him out of No. 1 for the second year in a row. It will be either Suuka.
“Personally, I think they should trade back and get as many picks as possible and build around the players.” [Fields] They’ve been trying to build around that,” Kittle said. “Help him as much as you can, help the child.”
Niners veteran living a super “dream”

The last time the 49ers appeared in the Super Bowl (against the Chiefs), All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams was sidelined by Washington for one year due to a contract dispute and a personal grievance over a medical exam. He had been suspended.
So will he be playing in the Super Bowl for the first time in his career in his 14th year?
“It still feels like a dream,” Williams said.
Mahomes: “2007 Patriots are still the best”
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said the best team of all time in his opinion was the Patriots’ 2007 team, which started 18-0 before losing to the Giants in Super Bowl XLII.
Mr. McGaughey attracts attention.
Former Giants special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey has garnered interest around the league, with the Buccaneers and Titans reportedly interviewing him.
McGaughey’s second coaching stint with the Giants began in 2018, working under Pat Shurmer, Joe Judge and Brian Daboll before being fired after this season.
